The Rio Blanco County Attorney is appointed by the Board of County Commissioners of Rio Blanco County, Colorado (BOCC). The County Attorney represents the Board of County Commissioners and the County. The office also provides legal advice and support to elected officials and Department heads. 

The County Attorney's office is responsible for reviewing county contracts, draft resolutions, ordinances and intergovernmental agreements, as directed by the BOCC, and prosecuting and defending civil lawsuits brought by and against the County.
