Rio Blanco County is saddened to report another death due to complications from COVID-19.
Our heartfelt condolences go out to those affected by the loss of their loved one.
Due to HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) laws, no other details will be made public at this time.
We ask that Rio Blanco County residents remain vigilant. Please continue practicing social
distancing, face coverings, hand washing and other preventative measures, as this is a
community-wide effort.
Please be advised that testing for COVID-19 is recommended for all symptomatic individuals. The
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) lists a wide range of symptoms reported due to
COVID-19. These symptoms range from mild symptoms to severe illness. Symptoms may appear
2-14 days after exposure to the virus. People with the following symptoms may have COVID-19:
● Cough
● Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
● Fatigue
● Muscle or body aches
● Headache
● New loss of taste or smell
● Sore throat
● Congestion or runny nose
● Nausea or vomiting
● Diarrhea
This list does not include all possible symptoms. The CDC will continue to update this list as more is
learned about COVID-19.
The CDC states to seek emergency medical help if someone is showing any of these signs:
● Trouble breathing
● Persistent pain or pressure in the chest
● New confusion
● Inability to wake or stay awake
● Bluish lips or face
This list is not all possible symptoms. Please call your medical provider for any other symptoms that
are severe or concerning to you. Call 911 or call ahead to your local emergency facility: Notify the
operator that you are seeking care for someone who has or may have COVID-19.
Rio Blanco County, along with the following partnering agencies: Pioneers Medical Center,
Rangely District Hospital, the Town of Rangely, the Town of Meeker, Rangely Fire and Meeker
Fire/Rescue will continue taking necessary steps in order to keep our community as safe as
possible.
