Rio Blanco County Facilities
Facilities Management monitors and maintains the useable condition of county buildings, tower sites, and associated grounds, providing snow removal, landscape maintenance, and custodial, and office moving services. The department oversees capital preservation for all locations but is only responsible for daily activities at locations not otherwise managed (currently excluded are the shop yard areas, the airports, Columbine Park in Rangely, and the Fairfield Complex in Meeker).
The department coordinates facility capital projects. This centralized department ensures routine cleaning of restrooms, breakrooms, common areas, and office spaces, and also landscape care and snow removal are covered through staff absences. The department orders, tracks and delivers paper products, cleaning, and breakroom supplies. The department monitors utility usage, addressing concerns. The department assists Fleet Management with pool vehicles. As time permits, county equipment and furniture is fixed by department personnel instead of replacing or calling in outside repair technicians.
As a service to the community, the department manages the scheduling of community events held at Town Square Park, and assists with the setup and removal of entertainment tents, creating a courthouse/justice center lawn that can be used and enjoyed by the entire area.
